Writer's Block: My Favorite Winter Activity

What is your favorite winter activity?
Skating on the Rideau Canal and eating a Beavertail.  For those not from the Nation's Capital, a Beavertail is a piece of dough deep fried and covered in cinnamon sugar.  Its good eatins. Yummy!  Nowadays you can get pretty much anything added onto your Beavertail.

Come and visit during Winterlude.  Skate on the world's longest skating rink and enjoy!

Writer's Block: Sunday Songs

What's your favorite music for a Sunday morning?
Oldies tunes.  They remind me of summers in New Jersey with my grandparents.  My grandma had her kitchen radio tuned into WAVE 1200.  Its nostalgic, really.   The town where they lived has lost its unique innocence.  Its now a playground/summer flop for New Yorkers to park and drive down to Atlantic City. *sigh*
Thats what I miss about the world today  - small town values; where you could go out to the local park ,without worrying what pervert might snatch you away; and you could leave your door open in case one the neighbors dropped by for some cake and conversation. Oh well.

Writer's Block: Winters in my Childhood

What was it like during winter where you grew up?
Cold with lots of snow.  Although looking back, it only seemed like a lot of snow because we were all smaller back then.

Welcome to the Jungle

Greetings and Salutations!

I'm not entirely sure what one posts on a LiveJournal - when it comes to the whole on-line journal thing I am a noob. To be honest, I'm not even sure I've followed the right link to post an actual journal page.

Christmas is coming and I, for one, have yet to get into full panic mode.  I'm one of those people you see in the mall on Christmas Eve with a glazed look and a million thoughts buzzing in my head like, "Why do I do this to myself every year" and "Thank god for gift certificates".

So bear with me on this wild, crazy, journey and fasten your seatbelts - its gonna be a bumpy ride....
